What Is Braces Treatment?
Dental braces treatment is an orthodontic treatment used to correct misaligned teeth and bite problems. Braces apply gentle and controlled pressure on teeth so they gradually move into better positions.
Braces can help with crooked teeth, crowded teeth, gaps, forwardly placed teeth, rotated teeth, and bite concerns such as overbite, underbite, crossbite, or open bite.
At Dr. Varun's Dental Clinic in Viman Nagar, patients receive a detailed consultation, smile assessment, oral health evaluation, and guidance on whether braces, clear aligners, or another treatment option is suitable.
Why Choose Us
The clinic focuses on careful evaluation, clear treatment explanations, regular follow-ups, and practical oral hygiene guidance during braces treatment.

The Procedure
The dentist checks your teeth, bite, jaw position, smile line, crowding, gaps, oral health, and main smile goals.
X-rays, photographs, impressions, or scans may be advised to understand tooth position, roots, and jaw relationship.
A customized plan explains the braces type, estimated treatment time, expected results, cost, and follow-up schedule.
Brackets are attached and wires are placed to begin tooth movement. The mouth usually adjusts over the first few days.
Follow-up visits are needed for wire changes, progress checks, oral hygiene monitoring, and controlled tooth movement.
Once teeth reach the desired position, braces are removed and retainers are given to help maintain the new alignment.

Is braces treatment painful?
Mild soreness or pressure is common after placement or adjustment, but it usually settles in a few days.
Types, age and retainers
Metal braces are strong and time-tested. Ceramic braces are less visible and may suit patients who prefer an aesthetic option.
Teenagers commonly start braces, but adults can also get braces when teeth, gums, and bone support are healthy.
After braces, retainers help maintain the new tooth position and reduce the chance of teeth shifting back.
Benefits
Braces are not only cosmetic. Better alignment can make teeth easier to clean and may improve bite balance over time.
Cost and care
The final estimate depends on misalignment severity, bite correction needs, treatment duration, braces type, extraction planning, oral health, and retainer requirements.
Cost and treatment time depend on diagnosis, complexity, material choice, follow-up needs, and whether any supporting dental care is required first.
Frequently Asked Questions
Patients with crowded teeth, crooked teeth, gaps, forwardly placed teeth, overbite, underbite, crossbite, open bite, or uneven smile alignment may need braces.
Braces treatment is not usually painful, but mild soreness or pressure can happen after braces placement or adjustment and usually settles within a few days.
Teenage years are commonly preferred, but adults can also get braces if their teeth and gums are healthy. Early evaluation may help children with bite or jaw concerns.
Treatment time depends on misalignment severity, bite correction needs, age, treatment type, and patient cooperation. Some cases take several months, while complex cases can take longer.
Not every patient needs extraction. It may be recommended only when there is severe crowding, lack of space, or specific bite correction requirements.
Retainers help maintain the new position of teeth after braces are removed. Without retainers, teeth may slowly shift back.
In India, metal braces commonly fall around Rs. 25,000 to Rs. 55,000, while ceramic braces are often around Rs. 48,000 to Rs. 75,000 or more. Self-ligating systems and complex bite-correction cases can cost higher, depending on treatment duration and retainer planning.
